I have worked in situations in the past where even corporate clients somehow don't have access to hi-res let alone vector art of their own logos, let alone smaller businesses who want to promote, in their own advertisements, a large brand they sell or carry. Years ago I worked with a trade show booth company, I was developing the graphics for the printing. I got to talking with their graphics specialist there (who was a big vector fan of course) and he said even when large corporations came to them, these companies somehow didn't have, or the reps/employees had no idea where or how to get, the vector art of the logos. I'd say we can get the logo we need there probably 80% of the time. It's great for those times when a mangled business card is the best 'artwork' our customer can give us.
