Astronaut Cartoon Character T-Shirt Illustration - "Cake Odyssey"
Rough sketch for a t-shirt project I am currently working on, a design for a cake competition.
Design specs were set by the client, who asked for an astronaut floating in space and "skywriting" the name of the event with a hand-held frosting dispenser.
Final art will be silkscreened on a black t-shirt, and needed to be limited to 2 or 3 colors. The white was a given, and the pink for the frosting just seemed to be the natural second color, plus it will stand out nicely on the black shirt.
The blue highlights were added to give things a bit more depth, and a version with and without the blue color was submitted to the client for review.
Original rough sketch scanned into Photoshop CS4, then cleaned up and refined using a Wacom Intuos4 graphics tablet.
