Peter Pan cartoon character sketch
Quick sketch of a cartoon-style Peter Pan. Complete with wooden sword and a glowing Tinkerbell. A belt & feather were added to keep him from looking too much like Link from the Nintendo ‘Legend of Zelda’ video games!
Sketched out roughly on paper, then scanned and the final line art & color were done in Photoshop using a Wacom Intuos3 graphics tablet.
The final vector art was used on the Winter 2007-2008 Family Guide calendar/brochure for the Akron Art Museum’s children activities programs.
I also did the layout & design for the brochure both for the Winter 2007/2008 ans the previous Fall 2007 mailing.

I still sketch by hand, using a lead holder/clutch pencil with a soft 4B lead (no sharpening for chunky lines). From there I scan into Photoshop and refine using the Wacom tablet.
Occasionally I will sketch right in Photoshop, but not usually.
