This puppy dog cartoon character illustration was created a mascot/logo for a recent client. His nickname is “News Hound”, hence the word “Press” on his dog collar name tag.
The pup went through quite a few rounds of sketches, even before sending “initial” sketches to the client. I had a certain look in mind and wanted to get this guy just right. The proportions were key, as was allowing for the nametag on the dog collar.
I recently updated my store over at Zazzle to include three cartoon pinup devil girl t-shirt designs. Included in this round are the devil girl with 8-ball bikini, the devil girl with giant 8-ball and hot rod flames, and the devil girl with the risqué hiked skirt.
Also available at the store are stickers and keychains with your favorite devil girl, as well as more t-shirts and other merchandise featuring my cartoon art.

I recently updated my cartoon illustration portfolio site with some recent illustration work. The sexy cartoon businesswoman mom was one of my more favorite recent projects. The client needed a hip & hot mom for a project involving helping moms use the internet to make some extra cash.
I recently updated the “Girl in the Moon” artwork (while drinking some Miller High Life beers, of course). I had initially created a version of her a few years back, and while I thought it was good at the time, lately I have been wanting to update her as she was my first attempt at a pinup style illustration. I have been working towards a certain look/style for the pinup girls, including some devil girl pinup art and others and felt I was getting closer to that vision as of late.
I thought it only fair to go back and update the original. A request to get that original art in t-shirt format prompted me to start work on the new version.
Icon artist Dirceu Veiga over at FastIcon.com has a nice little video screen capture showcasing his technique of creating cartoon characters as vector art in Illustrator for his icon creations.
The video isn’t really a tutorial or walkthrough, but it’s kind of nice seeing the approach to building the vector objects and adding shading and highlights. You’ll have to reverse-engineer some of the techniques, but sometimes just seeing something done can be helpful in itself.
