A recent Obama & McCain humorous cartoon illustration I created for Time Out NY for the “Commander In Beef” article regarding what New York City chefs would prepare for the 2008 presidential candidates. The illustration was created for the dining section, and is currently being featured on the front page of the Time Out NY website’s dining section. I recently finished up this ‘Theology On Tap’ cartoon character mascot/logo project for a youth ministries client.
The client is a youth ministries minister, and his new program is focused on bringing discussions of theological matters into more casual settings to try and reach additional young people.
The artwork is intended to be used on various advertising and promotional materials, as well as a t-shirt design.
I thought it odd at first, but I suppose there’s nothing really wrong about talking about religious matters in a bar, right? And I suppose a minister knows the deal. My only concern was to create a great illustration for him and his project.

Just stumbled across this awesome Flickr set of cartoon woodcarved panels by ojimbo. Each letter of the alphabet (sadly, only up to N right now) has it’s own panel with excellent juxtapositions of objects that begin with each letter. I totally want these as trading cards. Pictured is A is for Afro.
The best pieces have combos and triple combos, like the “Masked Mermaid with Mohawk” in the letter M.

Cool plastic toy art made from recombined plastic toys by artist Sang Won Sung, a Korean artist living in Brazil. The website is in Flash, and there’s not much info, mostly just images in the Portfolio section. The bugs are especially cool, and there are some other toy designs of funky cartoon type characters (including some superheroes) as well.

All my gadget RSS feeds are a-buzz with the news that the PEZ MP3 player is finally available, and the logo was designed by me. I’m partially, non-credited famous! Yow!
The guy who created this officially licensed PEZ MP3 player — which is actually a real PEZ dispenser that has an MP3 player inside — is a stay at home dad, and a nice guy as well. He started the project up as a hobby, and from internet buzz he started thinking, “What if…” and today it’s a reality.
