This digital illustration and design
for the Motel Blonde/Devilstrip/Lazy Susan/Number Station
show at the Zephyr Pub in Kent, Ohio was done completely
within Adobe Illustrator, using a hand inked image. The "Blind
God" of
the title was a drawing I did of an image from a dream.
I have no idea what it means, I just thought it looked
cool, and had been wanting to use in in a design for some
time.
As these concert flyers are usually reproduced on a copy machine, the design needed to be effective in flat black and white, which is actually enjoyable to me. Having a limited set of tools to work with usually keeps a design tighter and more effective. One is more conscious of the interaction of point line and plane. On a side note, my band Devilstrip was one of the opening bands for this show.
