T-shirt illustration & design

The Magic Carpet t-shirt illustration final artwork pretty much reflects the original concept - a genie in a magic lamp (or magic lantern if you prefer) on a magic carpet who always tells you that your wish is his command. Well, what else to wish for but two cold mugs of beer!

The cartoon genie had to be blue, there was no question, and of course his vest and fez had to be red (note the shamrock at the end of his fez tassle, in reference to the fact that the bar is located in Dublin, Ireland). The illustration pretty much designed itself, and the color choices were all chosen the emphasize the light blue genie. Lettering was chosen that had a Sanskrit feel while still maintaining legibility. Add a couple of Arabesque squiggles and presto - you've got the Magic Carpet t-shirt design!
